Overview
This German standard specifies product requirements for ball knobs. Ball knobs are control handles as used for example in mechanical engineering, in the plant engineering industry, for machine tools, medical devices as well as for chemical industrial equipment. The dimensions and tolerances for various sizes of ball knobs with ball diameters between 12 mm and 50 mm as well as their standard designations are specified in addition to their types. Furthermore information regarding the material to be used and the design of the components, including the nature of the surface, are provided in the DIN standard. For particular types, minimum requirements for the pulling forces that the handles are required to withstand are also standardized. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-06-01 AA "Bedienteile" ("Handles") of the FWS at DIN.
