DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices
DIN 69090-3
MQL processing technology - Part 3: Tools and tools systems
MMS-Bearbeitungstechnologie - Teil 3: Werkzeuge und Werkzeugsysteme
Overview
This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-02-22 AA "Werkzeuge und Werkzeugsysteme der MMS-Bearbeitungstechnologie" ("Tools and tool systems of the MQL processing technology") of the Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee (FWS) and Working Committee NA 122-00-12-11 UA "Maschinen und Maschinensysteme der MMS-Bearbeitungstechnologie" ("Machines and machine systems of the MQL processing technology") of the Machine Tools Standards Committee (NWM). DIN 69090-3 refers to the technical prerequisites and requirements for the machining with tools with geometrically determined cutting edges for minimum quantity lubrication (MQL). The specifications made in this standard do not exclude the use of cooling lubricants (emulsions) for conventional machining. The overall system contains the basic structure of standardization of the MQL processing technology and the standardized machine interfaces of - machine tool - MQL system - machine-side interface of the tool holder - tool-side joints of the MQL tool holder and tools as described in DIN 69090-1 to DIN 69090-3. IMPORTANT - In this standard DIN 69090-3, the described MQL components are not compatible with the MQL components currently used on the market which are described in some MQL company standards or tender and performance specifications. This concerns the interior components and tool holders which have been manufactured before the standard series DIN 69090 has been published and which are currently being used. The internal geometry of these tool holders deviates fundamentally.
