DIN 20553
Wheel sets with taper roller bearings for mine cars; without springs
Kegelrollenlager-Radsätze für Förderwagen - ungefederte Ausführung
Overview
Especially in underground coalmining with its difficult and often changing operating conditions, rail transport provides various advantages. Therefore, the simple extensibility and flexibility of the installations, in addition to suitability for deployment at low load bearing capacity of the substrate are also of importance. Flexible design of the rolling stock results in comparably minor restrictions of the material to be conveyed. This standard applies to wheel sets with taper roller bearings which are used in mine cars having a capacity of less than 1 500 litres according to DIN 20550 or in other cars in mine railway operations. The wheel sets with taper roller bearings are permanently connected to the supporting beams of the cars without using springs. The specifications in the standard range from information which purely concern the dimensions on the appearance and fixing points as a reference to axle alignment and axial symmetry, to information on the material and gasket designs and information about the calculation of wheel set capacities in relation to bearing service lives. The standard has been prepared by NA 008-05-01 AA "Grubenbahnen" ("Mine railways") at FABERG.
