Gaseous Hydrogen - Fuel system components for hydrogen-fuelled vehicles - Part 2: Rail vehicles
Abstract
This standard establishes the minimum requirements for fuel system components intended for use on hydrogen-fuelled rail vehicles. It references ISO 19887-1 for the main hydrogen component requirements and focuses on the specific details applicable to rail vehicle applications This standard is applicable to components incorporated in Hydrogen Fuel Systems specified in IEC 63341-2 “Railway applications – hydrogen and fuel cell systems for rolling stock - Part 2: Hydrogen fuel system”. The scope of this standard covers the following components, - Those already in ISO 19887-1 ED1: • check valves; • manual valves; • manual container valves; • automatic valves and automatic container valves; • hydrogen injectors; • pressure sensors, temperature sensors, and pressure gauges; • pressure regulators; • pressure relief valves; • pressure relief devices ; • excess flow valves; • gas-tight housing and leakage capture lines and passages; • rigid fuel lines; • flexible fuel lines, hoses, and assemblies; • filter assemblies; • fittings; • non-metallic, low-pressure rigid fuel lines • discharge line closures - Additional components, relevant for rail applications, are proposed to be included in ISO 19987-2: • pressure switches • flow restrictors (e.g. for purge lines), • flexible fuel lines for intercar connections, • quick-couplings (e.g. for purge interfaces) Similar to ISO 19887-1 ED1, the scope of this standard does NOT cover the following components: - Fuel containers (covered in ISO 19881 and UN ECE GTR13 / R134). - Refuelling receptacles (covered in ISO 17268 series).
