Glands for electrical cables - Cables screw bushings
Einführungen für elektrische Kabel - Tüllenschraubbuchsen
Overview
The cables screw bushing according to DIN 89283 is the screw-in part of a plug or coupling housing on the cable side. It can be regarded as part of a cable gland and is used to insert a two- or three-core electrical cable into the housing of waterproof plugs according to DIN 89267 or portable socket-outlets according to DIN 89266. When assembled with other individual parts matching the cable diameter (sealing ring, washers), the required degree of protection IP58 is achieved on the cable outlet side. For strain relief, a so-called strain relief claw can be used in conjunction with the simple cables screw bushing of the form, or form B with built-in strain relief device can be used. The standard, which is now more than 20 years old, had to be revised because the majority of the requirements and tests it contains had to be adapted to the advanced state of the art. NA 132-03-52 AA "Installationsmaterial" ("Installation material") at DIN-NSMT is responsible.
