Overview
On new marine vessels electrical installations working with voltages above 1 kV (medium-voltage power grids), and which have to be protected accordingly, are used. This standard is applicable to high-voltage fuse carriers in connection with the generic standard VG 88840-2 and the civilian basic standard DIN EN 60282-1 and includes deviations and supplements to the specifications contained in DIN EN 60282-1. These result from the intended application of the product in the field of defence and from the specific ambient conditions. Moreover, a type restriction is made. This standard is a detail specification for the field of electrical installations on vessels; the responsible committee is NA 132-03-51 AA "Sicherungen" ("Fuses") of the Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (NSMT) at DIN.
