Overview
This standard DIN EN 12168 specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for copper alloy hollow rod, finally produced by drawing or extruding, specifically intended for free machining purposes. Hollow products having an outside diameter greater than 80 mm and/or a wall thickness less than 2 mm are specified in DIN EN 12449. The sampling procedures, the test methods for verification of conformity to the requirements of this standard, are also specified. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 133 "Copper and copper alloys" (secretariat: DIN). Regarding German collaboration, the responsible Committee is Working Committee NA 066-02-04 AA "Strangpress- und Zieherzeugnisse" ("Extruded and drawn products") at FNNE.
