Analysis of coffee and coffee products - Determination of dichlormethane in decaffeinated green coffee using headspace gaschromatography
Untersuchung von Kaffee und Kaffee-Erzeugnissen - Bestimmung des Dichlormethangehaltes in entcoffeiniertem Rohkaffee mit Headspace-Gaschromatographie
Overview
This standard has been prepared by the Food and Agricultural Products Standards Committee (NAL), Working Committee "Kaffee" ("Coffee"). The standard specifies a method for the determination of dichloromethane in decaffeinated green coffee using headspace gaschromatography. The method is suitable for the determination of dichloromethane (DCM) in green coffee for mass fractions of 0,1 mg/kg to 5,0 mg/kg DCM. Green coffee is investigated for dichloromethane (DCM) content, whereby a gas sample from the headspace is transferred over a thermostatic sample by an autosampler or manually into a gaschromatograph (Headspace GC) and is quantified by way of a flame ionisation detector (FID). The determination takes place alternatively with whole or ground coffee beans. The scope can be expanded for higher mass fractions, if necessary, by minimising the weighed portion.
