DIN Standards Committee Laboratory Devices and Installations

About FNLa

The DIN Standards Committee Laboratory Devices and Installations (FNLa) develops standards for chemical, physical, biological and medical laboratories.

  • These standards cover subjects such as:
  • accuracy of instruments,
  • compatibility of laboratory devices and furniture,
  • national (German) and international terminology,
  • function, safety and testing of lab equipment.

Through involvement in current research projects we are able to introduce innovative technologies in our standards. The FNLa holds the secretariats for CEN/TC 332 "Laboratory equipment" and ISO/TC 48 "Laboratory equipment", thus representing German interests at European and international level as well.
