Kunststoffe - Künstliches Bestrahlen oder Bewittern in Geräten - Teil 3: UV-Leuchtstofflampen (ISO 4892-3:2013); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 4892-3:2013
Overview
This part of EN ISO 4892 specifies methods for exposing specimens to fluorescent UV radiation, heat and water in apparatus designed to simulate the weathering effects that occur when materials are exposed in actual end-use environments to global solar radiation, or to solar radiation through window glass. The specimens are exposed to fluorescent UV lamps under controlled environmental conditions (temperature, humidity and/or water). Different types of fluorescent UV lamp can be used to meet all the requirements for testing different materials. Specimen preparation and evaluation of the results are covered in other ISO documents for specific materials. This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 4892-3:2006-05 as follows: a) in Table 4, the description of cycles, lamp types and irradiance has been modified; b) in Table 4, two exposure cycles have been added; c) in Table 4, NOTE 4 has been deleted; d) the lamp combination contained in Table 4 has been transferred to Annex A. This International Standard ISO 4892-3 has been prepared in ISO/TC 61/SC 6/WG 2 "Plastics - Ageing, Chemical and Environmental Resistance" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held by NBN, is responsible for the European Standard. On the national level, the committee responsible for this standard is NA 054-01-04 AA "Verhalten gegen Umwelteinflüsse" ("Environmental resistance") at the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK) at DIN.
