Overview
The Amendment A1 supplements the product standard DIN 18869-7:2006-06 "Equipment for commercial kitchens - Components for ventilation - Part 7: Installations for treatment of cooking fumes, requirements and testing". The associated standard series DIN 18869-1 through DIN 18869-7 contains requirements for the design and operation of exhaust hoods, vented ceilings, air outlets, air duct systems and separators as well as installation and operation of stationary fire extinguishing installations. The installations for aerosol and aerosolate treatment described in Part 7, which are integrated in the exhaust hoods and ceilings for use in commercial kitchens, including the testing, the safety-related and hygienic features serve to subsequently treat fats in the exhaust air and in doing so prevent deposits in the exhaust system. The amendment contains additional annexes and defines specific requirements for further microbiological and catalytic photo oxidation units for aerosol and aerosolate treatment. Further purifying methods for the system will be defined with this amendment. The responsible Committee is NA 040-05-02 AA "Großküchengeräte" ("Equipment for commercial kitchens") at DIN.
