Overview
This engineering standard is part of a standard series for measuring the energy use of equipment for commercial kitchens. Part 1 contains equipment-specific provisions for determining the energy demand for electrically and gas powered convection steamers in conjunction with the respective operating methods. Water consumption is also taken into account. A method for the identification of the latent heat for this equipment group has also been specified. This information is required for an optimally designed exhaust system which has been adjusted to the equipment. This standard is intended to give the buyers of commercial kitchens the opportunity to select equipment which meets their needs and is cost-effective. At DIN the Committee responsible for this standard is NA 040-05-02 AA "Großküchengeräte" ("Equipment for commercial kitchens").
