Fireplaces fired by solid fuel - Technical specifications for installation
Abstract
This document specifies requirements for the installation and operation of fireplaces and their components in accordance with the DIN EN 16510 series of standards and its predecessor standards DIN EN 13229, DIN EN 13240, DIN EN 12815, DIN EN 14785 and DIN EN 15250 in buildings. It contains requirements for the combustion air supply and thermal insulation of built-in fireplaces. In particular, it covers the requirements for shared flue systesm, the requirements for installation and operating instructions and the requirements for room sealed fireplaces. For fireplaces in buildings that are individually installed by craftsmen on site and are not type-tested, the TROL technical rules of the stove and air heating trade contain corresponding regulations. With regard to the use of fireplaces for solid fuels, the applicable Ecodesign REgulation for solid fuel local space heaters and the 1st BImSchV must also be observed. Due to different building regulations for the installation and operation of solid fuel fireplaces in the EU member states, it is necessary to create a national regulation in order to fulfil the legal requirements in Germany. The committee NA 040-01-01 AA "Fireplaces for solid fuels - German mirror committee CEN/TC 295" in DIN is responsible for this standard.
