DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection

Overview

This amendment to the existing edition of the standard updates the requirements for the total vehicle mass and the device for rapid water discharge. The total mass of the vehicle shall not exceed the upper limit of the subdivided mass class assigned to the vehicle in accordance with the newly issued DIN SPEC 14502-1. A further necessary amendment to the standard regarding the inclusion of standardized fire fighting fittings for drinking water protection will be temporarily postponed until it has been completed and will be incorporated into a further amendment to the standard that is yet to be published. A consolidated new version - in which all amendments will be incorporated - will be published once work on the planned further amendment to the standard regarding fire department fittings for drinking water protection has been completed. This amendment to the standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-04-06 AA "Allgemeine Anforderungen an Feuerwehrfahrzeuge - Löschfahrzeuge - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 3" ("General requirements for fire fighting and rescue service vehicles - Fire fighting vehicles - Mirror committee for CEN/TC 192/WG 3") of DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
