Technical rule [Withdrawn]

DIN 14406-4 Beiblatt 1
Portable fire extinguishers - Part 4: Maintenance; Supplement 1: Information for application

Title (German)

Tragbare Feuerlöscher - Teil 4: Instandhaltung; Beiblatt 1: Informationen zur Anwendung

Overview

This supplement contains information on DIN 14406-4 "Portable fire extinguishers - Part 4: Maintenance" regarding maintenance of portable fire extinguishers by experts and information for clear distinction and interrelation of maintenance of portable fire extinguishers according to the tests required by the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV). This supplement does not contain additional standardized specifications for DIN 14406-4, even if the use of the modal verbs of obligation "must" and "have to" might suggest that this is the case, as these formulations are derived from the cited legal bases. The new edition of this supplement has become necessary due to the new version of the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV). In addition, the EC Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (implemented in Germany by the Pressure Equipment Directive - Fourteenth Ordinance to the Product Safety Act (14. ProdSV)) will be replaced by the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU as of July 1, 2016 (Article 13 already since June 1, 2015). This supplement has been prepared by Section Committee NA 031-01 FBR "Handbetätigte Geräte für die Brandbekämpfung" ("Manual Means of Firefighting") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
