DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection

Overview

Cages for transport of delivery hoses are specifically designed containers serving the fire departments for the ready for use storage, transportation and laying of non-percolating layflat delivery hoses according to DIN 14711. The second part of DIN 14827 specifies dimensions and requirements for cages for transport of delivery hoses for quick operation (STK-S). This is a container which has been specifically designed for quick operation serving the fire departments for the ready for use storage, transportation and laying of non-percolating layflat delivery hoses B, C or D. Cages for quick operation (STK-S) according to this standard are primarily intended to be used as quick-operation boxes carried along on the fire engine. They are intended for accommodation of the following cages for transport of delivery hoses: twice C 42-15-K (with couplings) according to DIN 14811 or - twice C 52-15-K (with couplings according to DIN 14811 or - three times D 25-15-K (with couplings) according to DIN 14811; the number of the hoses to be accommodated depends on the performance level. Both sides of the cage for transport of delivery hoses shall be opened at an opening angle of at least 95°. The stackability of the cages for transport of delivery hoses is ensured by the normative references. In the standard is referred to that the loading of the cages for transport of delivery hoses may be supplemented according to individual wishes. This document is a consolidated new version of the standard into which all modifications have been incorporated without any modification which were intended with the first draft amendment A1. The following rationale is given for the amendment of standard DIN 14827-2: - the standard is adapted to the current state of the art; - the modifications of the non-percolating layflat delivery hose standard DIN 14811, in particular the newly introduced performance levels are taken into account; - editorial revision with respect to the update of the normative references. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 031-04-09 AA "Sonstige Ausrüstung - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 5" ("Other equipment - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 5") at DIN.
