Overview

The particular requirements of this clause of the standards of the series DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) shall be applied for the selection and erection of extra-low voltage lighting installations supplied by a power source with a maximum rated voltage of AC 50 V or DC 120 V. The following significant modifications have been made with regard to DIN VDE 0100-715 (VDE 0100-715):2006-06: a) extensive, primarily editorial clarifications in the entire standard text; b) introduction of references to LED modules and their particular installation requirements; c) 715.524 "Conductor cross sections"; d) statement on voltage drop in 715.525; e) supplementation of Annex A with country-specific notes; f) adjustment of the formal structure/numbering of clauses to the currently valid Parts 100 to 600 of the standards of the series DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100). The responsible committee is UK 221.2 "Schutz gegen thermische Auswirkungen/Sachschutz" ("Protection against thermal effects/Property protection") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
