DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection

Overview

Fire hose systems in proper condition provide a very effective firefighting facility with a continuous supply of water available immediately. This European Standard specifies requirements and methods of test for the construction and performance of fire hose reel systems with lay-flat hose for installation in buildings permanently connected to a water supply and intended for use by any occupant. Furthermore, requirements on evaluation of conformity and marking of these products are included. The requirements of this standard may also generally apply for other applications, for example in marine applications or in aggressive environments; however, additional requirements may be necessary in such cases. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-03-05 AA "Anlagen zur Löschwasserversorgung einschließlich Wandhydranten - SpA zu CEN/TC 191/WG 9" ("Installations for supply of water for firefighting including fire hose systems - Mirror committee for CEN/TC 191/WG 9") at DIN.
