DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection

Overview

This European Standard specifies requirements and methods of test for the construction and performance of fire hose reel systems with semi-rigid hose for installation in buildings permanently connected to a water supply and intended for use by any occupant. Requirements on evaluation of conformity to a standard and the CE marking of the products are also included. The requirements of this standard may also generally apply for other applications, for example in marine applications or in aggressive environments, but additional requirements can be necessary in such cases. This European Standard is applicable to fire hose reels with both manual and automatic valves for installation with or without cabinets. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-03-05 AA "Anlagen zur Löschwasserversorgung einschließlich Wandhydranten - SpA zu CEN/TC 191/WG 9" ("Installations for supply of water for firefighting including hose systems - Mirror committee for CEN/TC 191/WG 9") at DIN.
