Standards [Withdrawn]

DIN 14092-7
Fire stations - Part 7: Workshop

Title (German)

Feuerwehrhäuser - Teil 7: Werkstätten

Overview

The standard applies to workshops in buildings of fire brigades and establishes their elements for design. The elements for design according to this standard shall enable architects, planners, fire brigades and administrative authorities to design workshops in a demand-oriented manner. Workshops for the purposes of this standard are facilities in which all measures for cleaning, testing and maintenance of respiratory protective devices, chemical protective suits, protective clothing (personal protective equipment PPE) and fire fighting hoses as well as of electrical appliances can be carried out by particularly trained persons (rescue apparatus attendants). Workshops and maintenance areas of fire brigades and rescue services are, for example: - general workshop, - mechanical workshop, - workshop for fire fighting hoses, - workshops for maintenance and service of the personal protective equipment, - electrical workshop and service centre, - fire extinguisher repair shop, - garage, - special workshops (for example, maintenance of medical equipment), - workshop for medical vehicles. The demand of a workshop shall be verified in relation to the work to be carried out on-site. This results in room sizes and functional equipment. Areas, rooms and technical equipment might be combined, taking into account the legal provisions and accident prevention regulations. The following significant modifications have been made with respect to DIN 14092-4:2001-10, DIN 14092-5:2001-10 and DIN 14092-6-2001-10 in order to adopt the aforementioned requirements to the state of the art and sets of rules: a) the standard parts have been combined and newly structured; b) workshop for medical devices has been incorporated; c) requirements for areas and rooms have been partly combined in tables for better overview and completely revised; d) sample layouts of the workshop for respirators have been deleted; e) contents have been completely editorially revised; f) bibliography has been editorially revised; g) DIN 3179-1, DIN 5035-2, E DIN 14011-9, DIN 14811-1, DIN 31051, DIN 33406, DIN EN 12021, DruckbehV, BVG B 3, GUV 9.8, GUV 9.20, GUV 23.3, GUV 26.18, TRG 401, TRG 730, VBG 62 (BGV B 7), VDI 2199, ZH 1/564.20 have been deleted and DIN 14011, DIN 14811, DIN EN 12464-1, BGI 702, BGI 808, BGI 894; BGR 157, BGR 206, GUV-R 181, IfSG, LärmVibrationsArbSchV as well as TRG 402 have been incorporated. The standard series DIN 14092 "Fire stations" consists of: Part 1: Elements for design, Part 3: Tower for fire stations and Part 7: Workshop. Part 1 (Elements for design) and former Part 2 (Doors for fire stations) of DIN 14092 have been combined in the newly compiled Part 1. Furthermore, all workshops, that is the former Part 4 (Workshops for respirators), Part 5 (Care for protective clothes, cleaning, disinfection) and Part 6 (Workshops for fire fighting hoses) of DIN 14092, have been combined in a new Part 7.
