Vehicles carrying tools and gears - Part 21: GW-L1 for logistic tasks
Rüstwagen und Gerätewagen - Teil 21: Gerätewagen Logistik GW-L1
Overview
In connection with fire fighting operations, GW-L1 for logistic tasks are primarily used for transportation of equipment and other materials. According to the definition, GW-L1 is a fire-fighting vehicle with fire-fighting equipment and a loading area with hydraulic platform for the transportation of small-size equipment, extinguishing media and other goods to supply the fire brigade units employed (for various logistic tasks), the crew of which consists of a fire fighting troop (1/1) or a fire fighting squad (1/5). When using equipment module "Dangerous products" according to Table 2 of the standard, the tasks of transportation of dangerous products equipment of smaller size, and thus the tasks of GW-G for dangerous products, can be taken over by GW-L1 for logistic tasks. The standard DIN 14555-14:1997-10, "Vehicles for tools and gears - Part 14: GW", which had been withdrawn in January 2004, has already been replaced by the previous edition DIN 14555-21:2005-04. The adaptation of the measuring technology has been carried out in accordance with Section 10 "Environmental Protection" of the Vereinigung zur Förderung des Deutschen Brandschutzes (vfdb) (German Fire Protection Association (GFPA)); the additional load of the equipment module "Hazardous products" has been updated, as it has been already specified in DIN 14555-12, GW-G for dangerous products.
