Firefighting and rescue service vehicles - Part 2: Common requirements - Safety and performance

Abstract

This part of this document specifies the minimum requirements for safety and performance of firefighting and rescue service vehicles as designated in EN 1846-1. Categories and mass classes of these vehicles are given in EN 1846-1. Firefighting and rescue service vehicles normally use a commercial chassis-cab or vehicle. A special chassis may be used for specialised vehicles to meet particular requirements. Among a few technical changes the informative Annex ZB is supplemented, in order to link the connection with the amended machinery directive 2006/42/EC.
