Scope of work

The working committee deals with the standardisation of fire hoses and fire service fittings. Overview of the main standardisation topics of the committee so far:

  • Pressure hose, fixed and blanc cap Storz couplings according to the standard number range DIN 143xx;
  • Coupling transition pieces according to the standard number range DIN 1434x;
  • distributors and manifolds DIN EN 17407 (former DIN 14345 and DIN SPEC 14355);
  • Suction strainers DIN 14362;
  • Foam concentrate proportioners according to the Venturi principle of the standards of the series DIN EN 16712 together with accessories;
  • standpipe (DIN 14375);
  • mobile fire brigade system separators (DIN 14346);
  • bucket pumps (DIN 14405);
  • branch pipe standards of the DIN EN 15182 series;
  • portable monitor standards of the series DIN EN 15767;
  • fire hoses (DIN 14811, DIN EN 694, DIN EN 1947, DIN EN 14540, DIN EN ISO 14557) and their test standard DIN EN 15889.
The standardisation of above-ground and underground hydrants does not belong to the field of work of NA 031-04-04 AA. This is done in the DIN Standards Committee Valves (NAA) because of the direct connection to the drinking water network. The most important objective of the standardisation work is to carry out fire brigade operations safely and efficiently by specifying the interfaces or the performance parameters of the mobile water delivery components.
