DIN 28124-3
Manhole closures - Part 3: For pressure, covered
Mannlochverschlüsse - Teil 3: Für Druckbehälter, verkleidet
Overview
This standard applies to manhole closures, (referred to in the following as closures) for pressure vessels made of alloyed and unalloyed steels and lined with stainless steel. The closures are built into pressure vessels that are mainly used for purposes in process engineering. Alternative designs and materials are to be agreed between purchaser and manufacturer. The closures can be used under the operating conditions as specified in Table 1 (according to DIN 28036 or DIN EN 1092-1). Mathematical verification may be necessary depending on the design and in consideration of the operating conditions. As a rule, manhole closures are designed on the basis of the process vessel-flange system (DIN 28030-1) used. Nominal sizes DN 500 (PN rating 10 and PN rating 16) and DN 600 (PN rating 10) can also be designed on the basis of the pipe-flange system (DIN EN 1092-1), although this could lead to higher masses. On principle, the individual components of closures in accordance with DIN 28124-2 and DIN 28124-3 can be combined (example: nozzles of 1.4541 steel according to DIN 28124-2 with a cover of P265GH and a lining of 1.4541 as in DIN 28124-3). Manhole closures are normally a component of a pressure vessel. Manufacturers of such pressure vessels shall ensure compliance with the essential safety requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (for instance as per the German AD 2000 Pressure Vessel Code). The special conditions for access openings as laid down in the Gefahrstoffverordnung (GefStoffV) (German Hazardous Substances Ordinance) or the BGR 117-1 and AD 2000 Merkblatt A 5 including Annex 1 are to be observed. This document has been prepared in Working Committee NA 012-00-01 AA "Anlagenteile" ("Process equipment") of the Chemical Apparatus Standards Committee (FNCA) at DIN. DIN 28124 "Manhole closures" consists of: Part 1: For unpressurized vessels Part 2: For pressure vessels, from steel Part 3: For pressure, covered Part 4: Swivel devices
