Overview
The standard has been prepared by NA 012-00-04 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss FNCA/NAL: Getränkeschankanlagen" ("Joint working committee FNCA/NAL: Beverage dispensing systems") formed by the Chemical Apparatus Standards Committee (FNCA) and the Food and Agricultural Products Standards Committee (NAL). Standardization within Working Committee NA 057-02-01 AA "Lebensmittelhygiene" ("Food hygiene") has been agreed upon in NAL. The preparation of this standard took place with the cooperation of Working Group "Getränkeschankanlagen" ("Beverage dispensing systems") of section Berufsgenossenschaft Nahrungsmittel und Gaststätten (BGN) ("German Professional Association Foodstuffs and catering"). This standard specifies the requirements for the mating dimensions of sockets and connectors (the latter are also called fittings) for beverage containers. In addition to the corresponding dimensions the standard also contains the standard designations of the sockets and connectors. Sockets for beverage containers according to DIN 6647-1 (allowable operating pressure up to 3 bar) and for beverage containers according to DIN 6647-2 (allowable operating pressure up to 7 bar) as well as connectors for flat fittings, basket fittings, combination fittings and for beverage containers according to DIN 6647-2 are standardized. The screw threads to be used have also been specified. The connectors standardized here are used for the mounting of connectors to taps (also called dispensing heads) that are standardized in DIN 32677.
