DIN EN 10269
Steels and nickel alloys for fasteners with specified elevated and/or low temperature properties; German version EN 10269:2013
Stähle und Nickellegierungen für Befestigungselemente für den Einsatz bei erhöhten und/oder tiefen Temperaturen; Deutsche Fassung EN 10269:2013
Overview
DIN EN 10269 is a harmonised standard cited in the Official Journal of the European Union. This standard specifies requirements for semi-finished products, bars and rods for fasteners with properties specified at elevated and/or low temperatures made of non-alloy and alloy (including stainless) steels and nickel alloys. This standard is considered harmonised since the afore-mentioned products are also (but not exclusively) used in the field of pressure vessel construction and therefore it supports the Essential requirements of EU Directive 97/23/EC. Several modifications have been made with regard to the previous version, such as: addition/deletion of steel grades; splitting of tables into steel grades meeting the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) or supplementation of technical data. The responsible German standardization committee is Subcommittee 19/5 "Stabstahl und Walzdraht für Befestigungsmittel zur Verwendung bei erhöhten und tiefen Temperaturen" ("Steel bars and wire rod for fasteners with specified elevated and low temperature properties") of the Iron and Steel Standards Committee (FES).
