DIN Standards Committee Iron and Steel
DIN EN 10106
Cold rolled non-oriented electrical steel strip and sheet delivered in the fully processed state; German version EN 10106:2015
Kaltgewalztes nicht kornorientieres Elektroband und -blech im schlussgeglühten Zustand; Deutsche Fassung EN 10106:2015
Overview
Electrical steel strip (sheet) differs from other steel products by its special magnetic properties, such as: magnetic polarization, specific magnetic hysteresis losses and permeability (magnetic susceptibility of the material). These products are divided into non-grain oriented (NO) and grain oriented (GO) electrical steel strip (sheet) depending on the orientation of the grains (crystallographic texture). The standard EN 10106:2015 applies to products in the final annealed condition intended for the construction of magnetic circuits. The responsible German standardization committee is Joint Committee 07 "Elektroblech" ("Electrical steel") of DIN Standards Committee Iron and Steel (FES) of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
