Overview
This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 104-01-07 AA "Tanks aus metallenen Werkstoffen" ("Tanks of metallic materials") at the Tank Installations Standards Committee (NATank) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. It applies for stationary angular steel tanks with plane walls and bottoms for the depressurized storage of liquids with a flashpoint of more than 55 °C manufactured in the factory or at the installation site. The significant modification with respect to edition 09/1989 is the extension of the scope to factory-built tanks. As long as the tanks are not installed in buildings, but outside, resistance to weather conditions, snow loads and wind pressures shall be verified in particular. Effects of floods and earthquakes are not taken into account.
