Hollow bars for machining - Technical delivery conditions - Part 2: Stainless steels with specified machinability properties; German version EN 10294-2:2012
Stahlrohre für die spanende Bearbeitung (Drehteilrohre) - Technische Lieferbedingungen - Teil 2: Nichtrostende Stähle mit spezifizierten Zerspanungseigenschaften; Deutsche Fassung EN 10294-2:2012
Overview
The EN 10294 standard series specifies the technical delivery conditions for seamless steel hollow bars intended for the manufacture of engineering components by machining. Part 1 of this standard describes requirements for non-alloy and alloy steels, while in Part 2 requirements for austenitic stainless steels (including creep resisting steels) and austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steels, with specified machinability properties are presented. Hollow bars are intended for the manufacture of engineering components by machining and hollow cylindrical components such as bushings are manufactured from them. This standard is a combined quality and dimensional standard and it also specifies dimensions, dimensional tolerances, and tolerances of the hollow bars. As a result, the order process can be performed in its entirety due to this standard alone. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 021-00-09-07 "Maschinenbaurohre und Hohlstangen" ("Mechanical engineering pipes and hollow bars") at DIN
