DIN 30693
Safety devices against rupture of flexible tubes for LPG
Schlauchbruchsicherungen für Schlauchleitungen in Flüssiggasanlagen
Overview
This standard applies to safety devices against rupture of flexible tubes, which are intended for installation prior to the installation of a hose assembly and which are operated with liquefied petroleum gases according to DIN 51622 in a vapour phase, and at a regulated pressure of up to and including 4 bar and in a temperature range of -20 °C to 50 °C. This standard specifies the structure and the necessary safety and functional requirements for safety devices against rupture of flexible tubes. They are downstream with the pressure regulator and shut off the gas flow, if a certain flow rate (for example, hose break) is exceeded. Explanations to the Niederdruckanschlussverordnung (NADV) (Ordinance for low pressure gas supply) are given in Annex B. Safety devices against rupture of flexible tubes exclusively associated with regulators and change-over valves are described in the European Standards DIN EN 12864, DIN EN 13785 and DIN EN 13786. Thus, it became necessary to revise DIN 30693 so that only safety devices against rupture of flexible tubes as an individual component are regulated in this document. During the revision, the requirements for safety devices against rupture of flexible tubes of DIN EN 12864, DIN EN 13785 and DIN EN 13786 have been taken into account to the extent that they are applicable to individual components. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 032-03-04 AA "Flüssiggas" ("Liquefied petroleum gas") at DIN.
