The development and maintenance of product standards and related standards for steel wire rod, wire and wire products, except stainless steels.

Standardization of grades and properties of wire rod (excluded are those for special purposes, e. g. qualities standardized by ISO/TC 17/SC 4 and ISO/TC44/SC 3).

Standardization of wires and wire products in so far as they are only used in that product form (excluded are those for special purposes ,e. g. steel wire ropes which are standardized in ISO /TC 105).

Testing standards for wire rod and wire (excluded are general testing standards e. g. standards of ISO/TC 164)
