Industrial-process measurement and control - Data structures and elements in process equipment catalogues - Part 15: Lists of properties (LOPs) for level measuring equipment for electronic data exchange (IEC 61987-15:2016); German version EN 61987-15:2017
Industrielle Leittechnik - Datenstrukturen und -elemente in Katalogen der Prozessleittechnik - Teil 15: Merkmalleisten (ML) für Füllstandsmessgeräte für den elektronischen Datenaustausch (IEC 61987-15:2016); Deutsche Fassung EN 61987-15:2017
Overview
Prior to the present standard the requirements for process control equipment and systems were specified by the customer in various ways when suppliers or manufacturers were asked about the suitability of devices. The suppliers, in turn, described the devices using their own documentation schemes, often using different terms, structures and media (paper, databases, CDs, electronic catalogs, and so on). The situation was comparable in planning and development processes, where device information was often duplicated in a number of different information technology (IT) systems. The present standard contains an operating list of properties (OLP) for the description of operating parameters and the summary of requirements for a level measurement device, as well as a device list of properties (DLP) for the description of various types of level measurement devices. The structures of the operation and device characteristics lists correspond to the general structures defined in IEC 61987-11 and are consistent with the principles for the structure of the characteristics lists defined in IEC 61987-10. Aspects of the OLP that differ and that are necessary for the various processes for electronic data exchange described in Part 10 are published in IEC 61987. Libraries of properties and blocks used in the relevant LOP are listed in Annexes C and D. The responsible committee is DKE/K 931 "Systemaspekte" ("System aspects") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
