Inductive components - Reliability management (IEC 62211:2017); German version EN 62211:2017
Induktive Bauelemente - Zuverlässigkeitsmanagement (IEC 62211:2017); Deutsche Fassung EN 62211:2017
Overview
This standard describes the electrical and mechanical failure criteria of inductive components (chokes and transformers) based on soft magnetic materials. These are, in particular, components based on laminated iron sheets, iron powder materials (including alloys), as well as ferrites, amorphous and crystalline metal strip cores. Various test levels (degrees of severity) are defined according to the application of the components. Structures of inductive components that are based on various techniques such as bonding, clamping, impregnation (lacquering) and (vacuum) casting can also be tested on the basis of this document. The specifications can be used for both the initial qualification of inductive components and for all types of requalification tests or reliability monitoring during production. The main changes compared to the previous edition concern the tests of continuous shocks and storage at low temperature. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic devices and their components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
