Energy management system application program interface (EMS-API) - Part 552: CIMXML Model exchange format (IEC 61970-552:2016); English version EN 61970-552:2016
Schnittstelle für Anwendungsprogramme für Netzführungssysteme (EMS-API) - Teil 552: CIM-XML-Modell-Austauschformat (IEC 61970-552:2016); Englische Fassung EN 61970-552:2016
Overview
This part of IEC 61970 specifies the format and rules for exchanging modelling information based upon the CIM. It uses the CIM RDF Schema presented in IEC 61970-501 as the metamodel framework for constructing XML documents of power system modelling information. The style of these documents is called CIMXML format. Model exchange by file transfer serves many useful purposes. The exchange of modelling information based on CIM (Common Information Model) is the focus of this part of IEC 61970, which specifies formats and rules for exchange based on CIM. It uses the CIM-RDF schema from IEC 61970-501 as the metamodel framework for constructing the XML document of the power system modelling information. The style of this document is called CIM-XML format. Profile documents such as the draft IEC 61970-452 and other profiles in the 61970-45x series of standards explain the requirements and use cases that set the context for this work. Specific exchange requirements are identified in specific profiles (or so-called subsets) from CIM and complement the format for general CIM-based information exchange. The exchange of transmission system model information to coordinate security for power systems is the requirement that this standard has consolidated. Software that follows manufacturer-independent principles and can generate and process CIM-based model information is supported by this standard. A solution has been developed that is machine-readable and at the same time understandable for humans, accessible for tools that support the "Document Object Model" and other XML application program interfaces, self-describing and takes advantage of the recommendations of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The responsible committee is DKE/K 952 "Netzleittechnik" ("Power system management") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
