Overview
Part 2-8 of the DIN EN 60598 (VDE 0711-2-8) series of standards specifies requirements for hand-held luminaires and similar portable luminaires which are held in the hand for use, suspended from a hook or placed on a surface and which are intended for use with electrical light sources for operation on supply voltages up to 250 V. This Part applies in conjunction with the main clauses of Part 1 to which reference is made. The committee responsible for the standard is DKE/UK 521.4 "Leuchten" ("Luminaires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
