Overview

Clevis straps according to this standard are preferably intended for overhead lines and switchgear with rated voltages in the network above AC 1 kV and DC 1.5 kV. Clevis straps of types A and B are preferably intended for the strap side connecting bolt connection and clevis straps of types C and D are preferably intended for the strap side U-bolt connection. The standard differs from DIN 48078-1:1985-04 and DIN 48078-2:1985-04 as follows: a) The two parts of the standard have been combined. b) Marking, requirements, tests, hot-dip galvanizing and references have been updated. c) Designs with connecting bolt N have been deleted without replacement. d) The shape abbreviations A, B, C and D have been introduced. e) The unit weights have been omitted. f) Table 1: - The specified minimum failure forces and the rated short-time currents have been adapted to the double eyes; - the length 80 mm for the connecting bolt 19 mm has been added; - the sizes with connecting bolts 13 mm, 16 mm, 28 mm and 32 mm have been added. g) Table 1 and Table 2: The tolerances of DIN VDE 0212-474 (VDE 0212-474) apply to dimension s. The responsible committee is DKE/K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
