DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE

Overview

Clevis straps according to this standard are used preferably for overhead electrical lines and switchgears and controlgears with nominal system voltages exceeding AC 1 kV and DC 1,5 kV. Clevis straps of shape A and B are preferably used for the connecting bolt connection on the clevis straps side and clevis straps of shape C and D are preferably used for the U-bolt connection of the clevis straps side. The standard differs from DIN 48078-1:1985-04 and DIN 48078-2:1985-04 as follows: a) The two parts of the standard have been combined. b) marking, requirements, tests, hot-dip galvanizing and references have been updated. c) designs with connecting bolt N have been deleted without replacement. d) the shape abbreviations A, B, C and D have been introduced. e) the unit weights have been omitted. f) Table 1: - The specified minimum failure forces and the rated short-time currents have been adapted to the double eyelets; - the length 80 mm for the connecting bolt 19 mm has been added; - the sizes with connecting bolts 13 mm, 16 mm, 28 mm and 32 mm have been added. g) Table 1 and Table 2: The tolerances of DIN VDE 0212-474 (VDE 0212-474) apply to dimension s. The responsible committee is DKE/K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
