DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE

Overview

Twin balled pins in accordance with this standard are primarily intended for overhead lines and switchgear with rated voltages in the network above AC 1 kV and DC 1,5 kV. The standard differs from DIN 48059:1978-03 as follows: a) marking, requirements, tests, hot-dip galvanizing and references have been updated, including the omission of the "I" marking for IEC; b) the reduction twin balled pins have been deleted without replacement; c) a non-destructive test has been introduced for each component; d) the unit weights have been omitted. The responsible committee is DKE/K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
