Overview
This part of the standard is based on IEC 61058-1 and applies to appliance switches intended for the control and regulation of electrical appliances and other equipment for household and similar purposes. Furthermore, this part of the standard is intended for switches with an ambient temperature up to and including 55 °C. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 542.2 "Geräteschalter" ("Switches for appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
