Overview
This standard applies to the hazards presented by power tools and to which all persons are exposed during intended use and during reasonably foreseeable misuse of the power tools. This part of IEC 62841 applies to reciprocating saws such as jigsaws and sabre saws. The standard differs from DIN EN 60745-2-11 (VDE 0740-2-11):2011-01 as follows: a) The predecessor standard has been revised and adapted to IEC 62841-1. b) The standard has been editorially revised. The responsible committee is DKE/K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
