DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE

Overview

This International Standard specifies requirements and recommendations for the design and manufacture of connections (equipotential bonding connections) between various electrically conductive elements in buildings and other structures in which information technology (IT) and, in general, telecommunications equipment are to be installed. The requirements of this International Standard apply to the design of telecommunication cable installation, as well as, for example, in building renovation. This document is intended for: - architects, owners and managers; - designers and installers of electrical and telecommunications cabling. The responsible committee is K 712 "Funktionssicherheit von Anlagen der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik einschließlich Potentialausgleich und Erdung" ("Functional safety of information and communication technology systems, including equipotential bonding and earthing") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
