Ferritkerne - Leitfaden für Grenzwerte von sichtbaren Beschädigungen der Kernoberfläche - Teil 1: Fachgrundspezifikation (IEC 60424-1:2015); Deutsche Fassung EN 60424-1:2016
Overview
Due to the manufacturing process and the physical properties of the products, ferrite cores usually exhibit some degree of damage, such as chipping, edge chipping, cracking, burrs and flaking. The permissible extent of such damage depends on the type, location and size of the defect, as well as the function of the core. This makes it necessary to define limits for surface damage of a range of ferrite cores, for example RM cores, shell cores, E cores, U cores or ring-cores. The IEC 60424 International Standards series is used to promote understanding between ferrite core manufacturers and customers with regard to surface damage. This part of the series of standards is a generic specification for visual inspections and contains a guideline for defining limits of visible damage to the core surface of ferrite cores. Specific specifications for the individual core shapes are given in the other parts of the series. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic devices and their components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
