DIN ISO 20785-2
Dosimetry for exposures to cosmic radiation in civilian aircraft - Part 2: Characterization of instrument response (ISO 20785-2:2011)

Title (German)

Dosimetrie zu Expositionen durch kosmische Strahlung in Flugzeugen der zivilen Luftfahrt - Teil 2: Charakterisierung des Ansprechvermögens von Messinstrumenten (ISO 20785-2:2011)

Overview

This standard specifies methods and procedures for characterizing the response of ambient dose equivalent equipment used in civil aviation to determine exposure to cosmic radiation. The methods and procedures are intended to be minimum requirements. Requirements for determining and recording exposure of aircrews to cosmic radiation have been included in national legislation of EU member states and other countries. Harmonization of methods of ambient dose equivalent determination and calibration of equipment is desirable to ensure compatibility of measurements made with such equipment. This standard is intended for use by government-employed radiation protection personnel in primary and secondary calibration laboratories and for use by industrial companies involved in the determination of ambient dose equivalent for flying personnel. The responsible German committee is NA 080-00-1 AA "Dosimetrie" ("Dosimetry") of DIN Standards Committee Radiology (NAR) in collaboration with Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft (German Radiological Society).
