Overview
EDDL is used to create electronic device descriptions (EDDL). In the corresponding tools it is used to generate interpreter code that can be used to manage parameters, operation or display in devices such as remote input/output modules, field devices and PLCs. This standard specifies interpretations of device descriptions in terms of their applications in order to ensure the interoperability of devices. The responsible committee is DKE/K 956 "Feldbus" ("Fieldbus") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
