Overview
This International Standard covers the safety of electric motor or solenoid operated: - hand-held tools; - transportable tools; - lawn and garden machinery. The above groups are hereinafter referred to as "power tools" or "machines". The rated voltage is up to 250 V for single-phase AC or DC tools and up to 480 V for three-phase AC tools. The maximum rated input is up to 3 700 W. This standard applies to the hazards presented by power tools to which all persons are exposed during the intended use and reasonably foreseeable misuse of the power tools. This Part 2-14 applies to planers. The responsible committee is DKE/K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
