Ferritkerne - Leitfaden für Grenzwerte von sichtbaren Beschädigungen der Kernoberfläche - Teil 8: PQ-Kerne (IEC 60424-8:2015); Deutsche Fassung EN 60424-8:2015
Overview
Due to the manufacturing process and the physical characteristics of the products, ferrite cores can usually exhibit some degree of physical damage, such as chipping, edge chipping, cracking, burrs, and flaking. The allowable extent of this visible damage to the core surface depends on the type, location, and size of the defect, as well as the function of the core. This makes it necessary to set limits for damage to a range of ferrite cores, for example RM cores, shell cores, E cores, U cores or toroidal cores. The IEC 60424 International Standards Series is useful in the negotiation between ferrite core manufacturers and users about surface irregularities. The present standard gives guidance on allowable limits of surface irregularities applicable to PQ-cores in accordance with the relevant generic specification. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic components and their parts") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
