Konfektionierte Kabel, Kabel, Steckverbinder und passive Mikrowellenbauteile - Messung der Schirmdämpfung mit dem Strahlungskammerverfahren (IEC 61726:2015); Deutsche Fassung EN 61726:2015
Overview
The requirements for modern electronic equipment characterize the demand for a procedure to test the screening attenuation of microwave components over their entire frequency range. For low frequencies and components with regular shape, there are practical test procedures that are described in the corresponding product standards. A new method is needed for higher frequencies and components with irregular shape. Such a test method is described in this International Standard. This standard describes screening attenuation measurement using the reverberation chamber method, sometimes referred to as the mode stirred chamber method, which is theoretically suitable for any microwave component with no upper frequency limit. It is limited at low frequencies only by the size of the reverberation chamber, which is frequency dependent. The reverberation chamber method is only one of many methods used to measure screening attenuation. A major change from the previous edition of this standard is the inclusion of the latest developments in reverberation chamber design. In addition, an alternative measurement method has been added that reduces the measurement time.
