Overview

The European standards series EN 50216 with the general title "Power transformer and reactor fittings" consists of seven parts. Part 1 covers the general characteristics of the accessories in general, while Parts 2 to 7 respectively deal with different accessories. This part of the EN 50216 series specifies basic accessories of transformers and reactors, such as - Thermometer pockets, to be used for liquid immersed transformers, - Earth terminals; to be used for liquid immersed and dry-type transformers, - Draining plugs, to be used for liquid immersed distribution transformers, - Filling openings, to be used for liquid immersed distribution transformers, - Rollers for wheel assemblies for liquid immersed distribution transformers. After agreement between purchaser and manufacturer, this part of EN 50216 Series may still be applicable either as a whole or in part to large power transformers or special transformers. The committee responsible is Subcommittee DKE/UK 321.2 "Transformatoren, Leistungen und Abmessungen" ("Transformers, performances and dimensions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
