Overview
This standard contains the text of EN 60335-2-11:2010/A1:2015 which has been prepared by CENELEC/TC 61. Amendment A1:2015 which has been incorporated into the European standard EN 60335-2-11:2008 + A11:2012 supplements or adds Clauses 3, 7, 11, 19, 20, 22, 29 and Annexes R, BB and CC. This standard deals with the safety of electric tumble dryers intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. It also covers with the drying function of tumble dryers. Heat pump dryers, in which a refrigerating system incorporating sealed motor-compressors is used to dry the textiles, also fall within the scope of this standard. These appliances may use flammable refrigerants. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 513.1 "Wäschepflegegeräte" ("Laundry care appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
