DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE

Overview

While the previous edition of this standard only applied to floor and ceiling heating systems, the new edition now published changes the title and extends the scope to heating cables and embedded heating systems for heating surfaces. This part of the DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) standard series now also includes requirements for the construction of heating systems for walls. This part of the standards of the DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) series also applies to electrical heating systems for de-icing or the prevention of icing or similar applications and is applicable to both indoor and outdoor systems. With respect to DIN VDE 0100-753 (VDE 0100-753):2003-06, the following significant changes have been made: a) the title and scope of the standard have been changed/expanded to include heating cables and embedded heating systems; b) special requirements for wall heating systems have been added; c) a clause on "Protection against burns" has been added; d) requirements for "Protection against overheating" have been expanded; e) the formal structure/clause numbering to the currently valid parts 100 to 600 of the standards of the DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) series has been aligned. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 221.2 "Schutz gegen thermische Auswirkungen/Sachschutz" ("Protection against thermal effects/Property protection") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
