Overview
Standard series DIN EN 61158 specifies a number of fieldbus types. This part describes the data-link layer. This includes its services, protocol machines and rules for media access. The physical layer has a similar structure, however, since their services are easy to describe, they are also included in this standard. The responsible committee is DKE/K 956 "Feldbus" ("Fieldbus") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
